The terrain can't be flattened
El Presidente demands the land be flattened!

It wont let me place so many buildings in their perfect spot because there's an unevenness on the land by the road =/ really annoying.

Yeh they can build Power plants, airports, skyscraper hotels and entire army bases.
Moving soil about for a flat surface is terribly hard though Tongue

If you delete the road THEN put the building down, it usually works... Once you build it, build the road again...

if it doesnt block the road.
i miss builders and miners changing the land. in tropico you could set enough mines and see how deep you could get the hole. And an airport was a real achievement.

RE: The terrain can't be flattened
If the reason given is "can't flatten terrain" that means it's not blocking the road... The reason why you can't flatten it is because of the road itself I think... They don't stretch, so if you build the road before the house, it kinda locks the terrain poly right next to it so you can't alter it... If you take the road out, the terrain is free to teraform, and your roads can lay on top of them with new slopes afterward...

Tip: Your hole island can be flattened by just building any huge bild like airplanes and newspaper and cancelling them after, kind hard but it works.

It wont let me place so many buildings in their perfect spot because there's an unevenness on the land by the road =/ really annoying.

It's part of the strategy of these type of games, limited landscape and many buildings that have to be placed. It would be great however if the God mode that people have spoken about had a way to flatten the terrain anywhere so that people could truly build their ultimate sandbox type of island city.

I very much doubt it was part of the strategy, its probably a glitch the devs didnt notice.
