It would be great if we could...
A thread of general things you'd like to see in the game.
1. A rubber stamp that would allow the gamer to highlight buildings, decorations etc and save them as a group of items that they can then later use a rubber stamp to place those objects on the landscape exactly as they were saved to the rubber stamp. Possibly have up to xx amount of rubber stamps and these would carry across the games so that they would be available to the gamer no matter which island (game) they are playing on.
2. A queue system for El Presidente. Allow the gamer to setup a queue for their Presidente. Why? Well, when El Presidente isn't under the direct control of the player, it would be great to tell El Presidente to start his queue. A queue would consist of the gamer clicking a button to setup the queue file, and then holding down the shift or ctrl key and clicking on individual buildings on their map. As they do this, each building they click on is added to the queue of buildings that El Presidente should go and visit. Now, once the gamer starts the queue, El Presidente goes from one building to another in the queue file staying there long enough until they are full op of El Presidente lovin', so that they get the benefit of El Presidente having visited those buildings.
I know, some folks will say "do you want the game to play itself for you too?", but in reality what it does is eliminate busy bee work, which amounts to no fun, and merely clicking on buildings to get el pres to go visit them, so basically it automates the process for the gamer. Those that don't want to use it can continue to do it all manually, and those that want it, can use the queue system.
More general ideas/suggestions to follow, until then, what about your ideas?

Hey you may just have something there. That sounds like a really good idea and it would cut out some repetitive back and forth parts of the game. I'm new to this type of game but even to me it sounds like a great idea. It's guys with thinking like yours that they should staff when these games are in the dev. period. Props to you City Builder. Have a great day.

3. It would be great if we could... 'Save a randomly generated island'.
Sometimes I've come across some really nice random generated islands, that have all the right resources, that are visually appealing, have plenty of room to build on etc. Then there are times (like this morning) where I have clicked the generate button no less than 60 times trying to get a nice island to generate. It is these times that I wish I could have saved one of the previous islands that the game generated for me and choose it from a custom list of islands to play on.
As I understand it the challenges are supposed to recreate the exact same island but are bugged and being worked on, Im guessing this has to do with the seed. So if they added a spot where we could input the seed number we could in theory regenerate an island that we like, all we would need is to know the seed number of the map we like that was randomly generated, and have a way of inputting that seed number to get the map to generate again for us, so really we wouldn't even need the ability to save the map, just the seed number to reuse later. Perhaps a small thumbnail of the island and its seed number so that we could reuse those islands that were generated already for us that we liked.
And you, what about your ideas?

Well I have played the game last night for about 5 hrs. and only finished 2 missions. The second one with the Tourists after it siad I had finished the level I just kept going to see how far I could take it and I am still going cause I saved it. It is so much fun. I wish there were more options for building and to be able to have more control over what the island looks like. I would also like to see the ablity to be able to save a couple of islands what you build to one game so you could go from island to island and each island you could treat differently. I hope they will have add-ons in the future like new buildings and such. They need to fix the audio issues too, there is bugs in the audio at times and can get annoying. I am having fum with it though. Ater this I may just pick up cities xl, too.

Would be great to really push the dicatorship arena. I want to be able to build an Orwellian society with cameras at every block, in people's homes, edicts such as National ID cards, rationing births, limiting travel, etc. No game I know of has explored it very well.
