Been playing for a few days, excellent game so far! i love the history, i've learnt loads already! spoilt by a few bugs though:
1. memory leak
after 3 hours, played two different scenarios, then the game crashed to desktop (see below). it was using almost 3gb! nothing else running on my machine at the time - i even turned off the firewall and virus checker. it doesn't seem to make it passed the 3 hour mark. i tried turning all the graphics settings down, still only 3 hours.
2. crash to desktop
crashed to desktop five times so far! probably related to memory leak. but, all five times, the game was saving when it crashed. i turned off autosave, and then it still crashed when i quicksaved!
the MOST annoying thing is that it then corrupts that save file, so you can't reload it - your entire game lost!
3. quick save
i don't think quick save works!? whenever i save using that, i can't reload my game again.
4. rain!
whenever it lightning strikes and rains (in game!) the game grinds to a halt and becomes unresponsive. it's a decent enough computer too, and i've updated to the latest catalyst drivers, but this doesn't fix it. even some way of turning rain off would do!
Also, some suggestions:
1. siege weapons
how come barbarians have trebuchets but the romans don't? it's too easy for them to smash your walls down at the moment.
2. not enough piers
why can't i build my own wooden piers into the river? it's only a wooden plank! being limited to one fisherman because there's only one pier is a bit silly. you can build as many farms as you like, should be the same for fisherman.
3. select multiple army units?
haven't found a way to do this - can it be done? would make attacking much easier! annoying having to individually select and move them to war.
anyway, potential to be a great game! i LOVE the history that goes along with it! very cool. but can't play it any more until a patch is released - the crashing and losing save games is too frustrating. my poor mouse can't take being thrown across the room!
My system spec:
Pentium DualCore D930, 4GB RAM
ATI Radeon X1650 (512mb)
Windows XP (Home) SP2
