RE: Tropico 3 expansion pack?
I'd like to see:
# of people homeless - tell me how many buildings I need.
A garage with 2 entrances - one front then one side or back, for those intersections I have
High capacity garages, sure, make them expensive, but oh so worth it!
Shrimp boats?
Party boats for the tourist area
Cruise Liner dock
Aquaculture facilities - Tilapia is easy to grow in above ground cattle water troughs ( not to mention tasty )
CIA/KGB ( you only get one, after an alliance ) Training Center. + experience for your police, -Liberty
High rise buildings, again much more expensive, require power, but you can fit more people in
This is the 1st such sim I've liked ( and I've been playing computer games since I got Bard's Tale for my C-64 ), and I'd love to see more for it.

I'm not sure about having the KGB/CIA/SIS(MI6) actually have a base on your island; perhaps in later stages of the game you can allow your island to be a base of operations for a International Anti-Drug-Trafficking unit. Perhaps allowing for "KGB/CIA/MI6 Technique" edict would be more fitting (With the KGB being more brutal albiet quicker and the CIA/Mi5 being slightly more Time Consuming but accurate)
I like the High-Rise buildings idea, power is for elevators I guess? on that note why not have a Shopping Mall/SuperMarket (Happy time for capitalists, deeply annoy Communists)
-------------------------------
(Copy-Pasted from the Modding Poll)
It would be pretty neat to have a small addition to your millitary; realistic of course as a small Carribean Island having a whole Tank Division would be pointless... however a small squad of Civilian-Converted Helicopters (or Chinooks!) would be pretty cool to quickly arrive to a location to help fight off rebels, or even take the fight to them and the ability to order "Seek and Destroy Missions" that will basically kill of a percentage of Rebels depending on your generals + "aviation crews" (college education required) combined skill (divided by something to stop having 100% all the time because you have 12 generals).
Other Additions? GM-Crops Edict would be pretty neat (Increased Output, lowered Enviromentalist relations).
On a purely ashetic note, perhaps allows changing of weapon-models and uniforms? That would probably be a job for skin/model changing mods though I guess.

What I'd like to see at some point is mixed gender workplaces (ie all, not just farms/factories). I mean, how come all engineers and journalists are women? And all professors men?

RE: Tropico 3 expansion pack?
My number one request for an expansion is more music. I love the music in Tropico 1 and 3, but had to turn it off eventually. I can still hear Gata Loca, meow!
Even better, allow me to set up links to play my own music (got some great sounds of Fania that'll go excellently with Tropico) and a radio dial in El Presidente's limo so I can rwd, ffwd, skip, whatever. Out of the way peasant! I'm driving here. *parp parp*

RE: Tropico 3 expansion pack?
Dunno if I'm the only one, but I would like a few more transport options. Not sure exactly what, but the traffic on my island is awful. I notice that even a simple addition of traffic lights would improve the flow of traffic in my city significantly. Maybe have a tile that goes on intersections that allows light? + an option for lights with filter. Wider roads might help too. I'm not saying an expansion dedicated to it, I doubt you could add enough, but I would like any expansion to contain a few things to help. I imagine I lose a whole lot of money in my economy to people being stuck in traffic.

RE: Tropico 3 expansion pack?
Funny. Despite the fact that I'm trying to create a challenge, I've never actually played a challenge all the way through in the original or this one. It's one of those things I keep meaning to get around to. I've always enjoyed the core game. So more challenges aren't that appealing to me.
But some of the previously mentioned stuff like new traits, more avatar options, building options, edict options, night time, stuff like that is appealing to me. I'd like to see the ability to perhaps customize buildings a tad, to give more individuality to islands; a system like what is done with the avatar except with buildings. But still have the option to just to plant buildings willy nilly without getting into all of that. Also, an upgradeable palace, or ability to build new ones to impress the people.
One thing that got me about the original Tropico and this one is that the economy is 100% nationalized and that what mainly sways the US from hating you is either praising them or building industry which is 100% nationalized anyway. But lack of industry isn't why the US gets annoyed with other nations; it's the lack of privatization. We're happy if a nation only has one farm and a cow as long as that cow is owned by XYZ International LLC and not the government (Oh Noes! Socialisms!). I was very excited to see in the challenge editor the ability to privatize buildings, which is why I've been trying to make a challenge: to make a version of the game I want to see. I'd like to see it where the US tends to be more happy when more and more of your economy is privatized and you have to deal with the plus and minuses of doing that. So an expansion of that concept may be cool.

Yes, but a Paki, born a decedent of Pakis, is a Paki. Even if it were born in England.

Not that I intend to be condescending or smart-assed, but the nationality of persons - especially new-borns - is determined by the laws of a nation state. Additionally, there is such a thing as dual-citizenship.
Under the game program laws of Tropico, born in Tropico is a Tropican. If for no other reason, only one nationality is in the program for each person. Don't open this racial, ethnic, or whatever of parentage can-of-worms here, please.

They would also be English.
Though I personally would not consider them a Pakistani if they were not born in Pakistan.

Interesting.
First let me issue the reason why I used the term 'Paki' instead of 'Pakistani', and the reasons are not that I am a lazy writer or racist, I'll have everyone know. So, British are called Brits, Australians are called Aussies, Scottish are called Scots, so what is the problem with calling Pakistanis, Pakis?
Also, I find in my country, England, that Pakis with Paki parents, often speak 'Paki ghetto' or Pakistani in their own home. This does not constitute that they are truly English. I even think of people who speak poor English aren't truly English. Even Pakis who live in nice homes speak 'Paki Ghetto', from what I have found. Either way, one that is born a descendent of a different nationality, is that Nationality, and why would you want to change that anyway? Why would you want to change your heritage from being, say, part of an African Tribe, to another plain British man? It just doesn't make sense, it isn't as though English people flourish other nations and then declare their children South African, just because the child was born in South Africa!
Sorry, now you've let out my political side, I'm a left-wing Conservative, and as all should know, Britain has one of the worst immigration and passport policies that I have ever seen! We have a powerful passport that let's us through to almost every nation because of its message from the Queen found within, and we just give them to people willy-nilly.
Also sorry if you found this offensive, I genuinely did not intend this.

If you genuinely did not intend to be offensive why are you using a term that you know is considered racist/offensive in the UK? Wouldn't it have been just as easy NOT to use it?
Using the term "Pakis" is different to using the term "Brits" or "Aussies". The term "Pakis" has a very recent history of being used as racial intimidation and still is.
Also there is no such language as Pakistani or "Paki Ghetto", as you choose to term it. There are several languages spoken by people in or from Pakistan, Urdu, the most common, and Punjabi are two of them.

I do not follow what all this discussion of Pakistanis in 'England' and English in South Africa has to do with the game Tropico.
It was not set out on the table until you put it there with the remark of "Don't open this racial, ethnic, or whatever of parentage can-of-worms here, please". I'm pretty sure this would have not went any further, if you didn't make that statement. You made your point, and that portion should have been left out.
Does this have any bearing to this thread? Of course not. However, it was not initiated by Jaunito. It came about several posts earlier, and he commented on it, as some others did.
When I stated that he "speak his mind", I was not looking for a racial war. What I meant was to speak his mind as to the game, and how it related to the game. Any other remarks should have been made on a new thread, and I have discussed it with him via PM. I also took into consideration that he is 16 years old (didn't realize this until I viewed his profile).
Up until his last post, I thought he spoke like a mature gentleman on many of his comments for his age.

I believe I was sticking up for myself, and I said sorry for taking it off-topic. Also, I have noticed how many people are having problems with their game, one including me in which I have informed Kalypso over five times now. Maybe you guys should sort it out?

I'm just curious Timo. You wanted this put to rest, and you let Assen to continue adding more fuel that would require a response. It shouldn't matter who continues this. Assen is no one special, and in all fairness his statement should be deleted.
