Where is this a problem? In the UK? It's available on Steam in the US.

What about everywhere else in the world. Why are you withholding it from the Australians and the New Zealander's and everyone else? Or is the only important thing that the Americans have it?
I'm asking so I can find out where we need to address this problem.
Naturally we want to make it convenient for people to play this game, and if there's an error on Steam that's putting negative attention on Kalypso Media and costing us sales, we want to fix the issue right away (regardless of who is to blame.)

STEAM had the international released plugged as today, all of us woke up (or waited up all night if you're me) and found it had been pushed back to the 14th of November.
Word is that Kalypso have pushed back the release date to the 14th so that STEAM can't release it. This is more than a tad annoying as it has happened before AND US and German customers have been playing the game for almost a month.
Why are you withholding it from the rest of the world? Whatever kind of strange sales decision this is, is it worth all the refunds and bad press that is coming of this?
You say "Naturally we want to make it convenient for people to play this game" and I'm not trying to be rude here but I'm finding that very hard to believe considering everything that has gone on regarding the release of this game. I laid down $50AUD a month ago expecting to be able to play it on day one and this is for me (and many others) the final straw.

RE: It didn't release on Steam yet
Hi,
I am in the UK, and i am also affected by the issue with steam (although i shouldn't be surprised as everywhere else has the release date as the 13th) but it was the lack of updates until AFTER the release time that has got to me and put a bad light on Steam and also a bad first experience with Kalypso.
Very tempted not to get it at all now and just to stick to good old Tropico 1 where i know i wont be disappointed!

Don't know how country-specific this is, but the release date has changed to the 14th in Israel too.
I demand explanations.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to elaborate on this issue, but I have brought this to the attention of the people who can give you an appropriate response, and they should be online to address this problem soon.

RE: It didn't release on Steam yet
Kalypso, work fast to sort this out, for everyone (apart from those in the US and Germany) who bought your awesome game from Steam have been misled into buying Tropico 3 after it stated the release date was today Nov 6, then after the release time pasted a new release date which matches retail stores has been put in its place, leaving many gamers angry at seemingly being lied and misled into buying the game from Steam in the hopes of playing it earlier. The forum on Steam is filled with angry gamers, angry at Steam and Kalypso (possibly incorrectly at Kalypso) people are filing refund requests, you are loosing money. People are asking the questions, what has happened and why no explanation?

I suggest that these 'people' better come bearing explanations if kalypso is looking at avoiding further fallout.
At any rate, thank YOU Dan for responding to our concerns and calling people to come and resolve the current dilemma.
We can only hope that the rest of your company begins to understand the benefits of working and communicating with their community and not against it.

This is a very political answer, I think people here want accurate straight and honest answers. It's after all a question of time and money - which some of your customers may not have one of either or both. And most importantly, release dates are your choosing - considering the game has been released in Germany and North-America, there's abosultely no technical reason why it shouldn't be released elsewhere. The only other reason that comes to my mind is profit - but this change in release dates is a violation of agreements which has a certain financial value.

One of the problems is that this issue flared up on the forum just recently. Most of the KM staff are out of the office (since they work in Europe.) As a result, I cannot guarantee that anyone will be on to answer your questions in immediate future.
As redundant as this must sound- we really appreciate your patience, and this issue will be addressed asap.

responce from Value on the Steam forum
"Unfortunately, the date listed on the Steam Storefront page was incorrect. We have changed it to the November 13th date at this time which is the official release date.
Our apologies for any inconvenience.
If you wish to refund your pre-purchase of this game, please create a support ticket and we will assist you in this matter."
