What about the game lock ups? I haven't been able to determine a ryhme or reason yet for some of the instances in my games. I am avoiding the beach areas as suggested by City Builder, but if this is the case, it is completely bizarre to me that the building I built on the beach that moved 1 pixel of sand into the water would later crash my game 5 years later and no amount of reloading to old saved games would make it go past the point of game freeze.

Is there a direct link for those of us who don't have high speed internet on our gaming systems?

Was this released within the past 7 hours? because before 8 hours I checked on the game and nothing updated. I sure hope it will update the next time I run it.

No, I run it on XP Home edition SP 3 32-bit, and it runs fine!

I 'm not quite sure, I just looked at the specs, I would say, it should work, but no one can guarantee you that except maybe Kalypso or someone who has exact same laptop. but when I look at the video card, it says it supports directx 10, and it seems a decent one, cpu is good too. OS doesn't matter XP or vista, the game should work on both. On this forum some people got problems with much better cards, but Kalypso issued this new patch that should fix some of these issues.

The updates are all comparably small in size. You should be able to download it with a low bandwidth connection.

Since the in-game updater is part of the copy protection scheme allowing users with verified serial numbers access to this optional content, we do not offer direct downloads of the patch installer.

I bought Tropico 3 on Direct2drive.com, when the patch will be availlable for this version of the game?

All updates have been forwarded to our electronic software distribution partners. If you can't use the in-game updater for the Direct2Drive version, please contact them for assistance.

Mmm, I've just opened tropico 3 and the in-game updater downloaded and installed the patch.

It is strange, because for the 1.04 I had to download the direct2drive patch and no in-game updater was in the game...

Maybe I'm only having an impression, but looks like the in game time had a speed-up, It seems the citizens and cars now move faster...

Sorry, but the elections still break!

I was playing away, am at 2032. At the top of the screen it gave a split of voters. However when I went into the lists etc, it didn't show any candidate support details.

I restared the programme -- the voting split has gone, no signs of an election.

But I cannot call an election! It doesn't say I can't do it yet or anything, the icon is available, I just click it, you hear the noise but nothing happens.

If I can provide any further details, please let me know.

To further clarify: at one point the option to call an early election is crossed out, and it says an election is taking place within the next three months. However it never happens, and then the election button just goes back to its "click but nothing happens" status.

I let the installer do its trick after I went to bed last night. It appears to have taken about two hours to do the combined 1.04/1.09 upgrade. I thought that I would let others with slow connections have some idea about how long it might take them.

Why this patch is not compatible with the Russian version? Game won't update.

The Russian version published by Russobit-M uses a physical copy protection and will require special update treatment by the publisher. Automatic online updates have been deactivated for the Russian version because they're incompatible.

I hate Russobit-M. They do not update their products after the start of sales. Why did you choose this publisher?

1.11 is a hotfix out for Spanish, Hungarian, Polish, Czech and Romanian language versions which fixes minor localization issues.

No, this card does not meet the hardware requirements for Tropico 3 (Shader Model 3.0) and thus, will not be supported.

Patching russian version with 1.09 patch was epic win. 1.09 patch kills StarForce protection and thus there's no need to use DVD disk. Big Grin

To say all the truth, even the italian version has some bad translation wich should be fixed (especially in the editor) in the text. Few things, but errors.

Does this patch fix the problem of how annoying it can be to create roads in certain places? Are roads a lot easier to build through high-altitude areas now?

I hoped so, but I don't think so. Probably Assen too busy playing CoD MW2 instead of fixing the roads. just kidding of course.
