This is just the best city builder i ever seen, and i learn about him casualy when i was downloading demos in Gamespot. But guys you need to do more marketing, city builder is a hard gen howdays, and the game will not sell by itselft just because is good and some good reviews in some pages.

I will have to mencion what happen to another game, Freespace 2 in 1999, it whas just the best space sim game ever created, game reviews where excellent all of them around 9-9.5/10, but space sim where a hard gen for that time, and the game fail in only one thing, bad marketing, who lead it directly to a failure.

Yea I mentioned this to the team a week before the release of this game.

They expected this forum to be filled and full of talk once the game is finaly on the shelves.
It did bring a good few new members in...but not enough to call it a grand success???

This game was poorly advertised and a few of my friends who love Caesar 4 never even heard of this game..I have to enlighten them!

People should do grass roots marketing and create their own movies of building their cities and upload them to places like Youtube.com or any other popular video hosting sites and it will grab peoples attention far more than any "office" marketing that they can do unless they have a huge budget to do it.

Imperium is the biggest product Kalypso has made so far and we spend a lot on marketing and PR - thus our ratings and awareness in Europe was great, and we are pretty sure also our US-distributor Southpeak is progressing with it. Please remind that we can only do what we can afford (marketing is very, very expensive) and as we are not EA we won't get the stuff and ratings for free ;-)

We do our best and can anyway say the game selling good!

I was quite suprised to see 5 copies of the game in the local best buy store. Of course I wouldn't have bought it due to it's southepeake publishers but thankfully for me gamersgate has the electronically distributed version for my pleasure. Still it was a suprise to finally see the game show up at the local best buy, my local Gamestop said that they would NOT be getting any copies in stock as it was/is not considered to be a mainstream product which I imagine must be quite the fight for the publishers to work against with games in this genre if they don't have the pockets deep like EA or the old Sierra games did/do.

I personally got it from Stardock...downloaded the game...best thing ever created

Ordered my thru Amazon from SouthPeak. The patch was a problem for a bit but finally figured that out. Wife still complaining about me spending about 6 to 8 hours yesterday playing! This game is very addiction!!!!!

Yes i completely agree with this thread, I found out about this game purely by chance.

Game has now been released on Metaboli.co.uk ... i'd expect that to boost the fan club by a large margin.

I've not heard of them, are they a hot online seller like we have direct2drive and steam etc?

The extra content that will be available to purchase - will it include a new Timeline at some point - or any scenarios that have objectives - or will it only be freebuild maps?

However the IR website's price is a litlle confusing.

The USA's version says the price will be $3.99
