You must be talking about the PC version. Also, Canadians aren't americans.

Nope, the xbox version, got it as soon as I could online from Melbourne. BTW, Canada is in North America as is the U.S.A, so yes you are American.

Well Mexico is in NA as well but you wouldn't call them americans. Just as you don't call Canadians Americans.

RE: Where to buy?
I thought I'd enlighten you w/ what I found out at GameStop today from my friend, the manager of the store. Apparantly the item (Tropico 3 - Xbox 360) is on the same level as the Nintendo DS Action Replay, meaning only the big time GameStop stores will ever get them in (Think Los Angeles Department stores). Wal-Mart, Target will probably never see it. He had to use his claut to order him a copy that will show up at this store for me. (Since I don't have a credit card) The only way to get it would be to order it from a web-site: GameStop.com, EBGames.com, Amazon.com, FYE.com, BestBuy.com. Sorry, I was pretty ticked too!

EBgames.com has yet to put my order to the "shipped" setting even though it's only supposed to take 24 hours. anyone get it from EB ok? i am tempted to cancel this and order from amazon or something. or move on to another game.
this has been a truly retarded game launch.

I ordered mine at 1:30 yesterday from Gamestop (EB's evil twin) and they shipped it yesterday, but i didn't get shipping confirmation until this morning. Right now it is sitting on my front porch... but I am at work... I want to go home now and play.
PS: I guess the good news in all of this is that if they are releasing this game in such a small and strange way our copies will probably be rare eventually and worth more then we paid for them. Gotta look for the silver lining where we can.

It's weird how a launch of a game can be so F**KED UP. I remember trying to find a copy of Operation Flashpoint DR was difficult, this has just become ridiculous.
So true it has become a bit comical. Gamestop does have the 1st/2nd Tropico (for PC) available for download though, I know because I was tempted to download it for the 2nd Tropico which I never got around to buying, but it sounds sort of nice. Tropico 2 has a Pirate theme, so I am surprised I never bought it.

Why wasn't this game available at retail like so many other crappier games are every Wednesday? Seriously, Kalypso, I love this game and I'd love to see the Xbox 360 version be a huge hit, but you make it pretty darn difficult sometimes.
I feel so sorry for you, to have UPS lose your game. That sucks, I hope they find it soon.
Well, they assure me it's not lost, it's "somewhere within the UPS system." They probably shipped it to Miami.

So true, its hilarous that canadians don't even realise that they are american.

RE: Where to buy?
It appears GameStops (mind you I'm in the north Chicago suburbs) randomly are getting the game in. Just picked up my copy tonight (the only copy they had) as it came in this afternoon. Surprising that such a decently received game (from review sites/magazines) is so hard to find.
Hopefully I can avoid the issues others have been having, but I would assume some sort of patch will be issued to correct major issues.
