Happiness?
I was hoping someone can clear up my confusion.

I noticed that for example the happiness bars for my religious detractors sometimes makes "religion" a high priority for their happiness. There is a star next to it.

Also, the die hard religious people dont really make religion a priority for happiness anymore than anyone else?

RE: Happiness?
Bumping this.

I also need some advice on how to raise the happiness of my people. I was playing the Viva Tropico mission, and it was so slow to make people happy. I made a los of houses for the housing quality and a few apartaments. Made various churches and a cathedral. Restaurants, pubs and a cabaret. Enough food supply, news papper. Food for the people edict and stuff like that, and in the last year i managed to get the overall happyness level on 64 Sad

RE: Happiness?
Nothing raises the happiness more than money. Money talks, bs walks. If you check the salary of each job, you will notice 1 peso/dollar does not raise happiness at all, but 2 or 3 do. If you go back to the soldiers, their happiness/job satifaction has decreased over time from 75% @ $13.00 back to 65% etc. If you increase it to 80% or more (around $15.00 or more) they the overall happiness for the island increases as you raise salaries for all your workers. Don't waist time raises it $1.00 it doesn't affect the job satisfaction, it has to be at least a few dollars or more. I never over pay anybody. No one on my island makes $50.00, ever. I am a dictator, not a fairy god mother. Most of my islands wind up with 65% of people happy and content, before I get bored with it and start a harder game.

RE: Happiness?
Those "priority needs" (the ones represented by the stars) don't seem to correspond to political affiliation or anything like that, they're just what the Tropican feels is most important for happiness. My impression is that the need bars of the starred categories deplete more quickly than the others. Thus, a Tropican with a religious star will go to church more frequently, even though he or she may not be a religious supporter.
