How can I screen record my game?
I have been trying to use camtasia studio 6, and other software to record my games, but for some reason it won't work properly. The screen recorder will only record my desktop (icons etcs) and the "tropico 3 cursor" (for some reason, this is the only part of the game that my software recognises) and nothing else. I have seen on youtube that people have managed record tropico 3 (with sound) and upload it so I was hoping if someone could shed some light on this?

Thanks

RE: How can I screen record my game?
I had the same problem while using freeware when I was making Grand Ages Rome videos. I ended up buying HyperCam3 and it worked fine although I had to set my graphics on low for the videos (I usually play the games on the Ultra video settings). I'm not recommending HyperCam3 since I didn't do a thorough search of the alternatives and I am by no means an expert on screen capture (quite the opposite) but it did work for me.

I did voice-overs with hints and tips about the GAR missions and game play concepts and now that I've started playing Tropico 3 would really like good players to do something similar for Tropico.

Thanks for your advice. I have tried the program that Timo recommended and it does the trick. Maybe you should try it to see if there is any improvement on the software you are currently using.

Thank you

OK, TheShanks and Timo, you cost me $37. I was perfectly happy with HyperCam3 but after trying the demo of Fraps I bought it. I can now do my videos on Ultra graphic settings with no problems.
