Is that it..

Well Juanito, yes, that is it...
I decided I wouldn't be purchasing anymore from the makers of tropico for the sheer fact that tropico 3 does not work properly and they have known about it for more than 6 months now. For them to advertise the "new pictures" of AP as if this was going to paper over the cracks (cover up the fact that the game it is intending to "expand" does not work properly on pc or xbox), and some how we would just simply forget about it. I don't blame you for asking for your money back either... But in my opinion, the developers have already shown me that they really are only interested in our money (and that is it). I don't by the BS that they "care about our opinions" and what we think of the game, because if they did, they would respect all comments about the game, not just the ones that make them feel good.

Look, where is the new patch for tropico 3?... i mean its June now, where is it?...
Its actually a very simple strategy... draw customers in and collect their money, set up a forum for buyers and the like to air their "concerns" and we will pretend to listen to them, even occasionally respond to a selection of posts... But in the end, we wont do anything, because we have your money, and thats all we are interested in.

I could give you countless other strategies as examples, but they are all underpinned by one thing... its called DECEPTION (smoke and mirrors, fabrication, propaganda etc etc).

I got to hand it to you Juanito, you sure have more patience with these guys then I do.
I hope you have pleasant evening.
The Shanks

ps..the rant is not directed at you.

It worked well enough for me. I managed to beat all the campaign missions and as I have no interest in sandbox, it was well worth the $7.50. Managed to get 50 hours out of it, which is much better than the usual FPS or action game nowadays.

Now Mirror's Edge 7 hours for $30, now that was bad.

The Ign add uses . . . . . and More . . . . two or three times in the advertisement. I can see where people might have been expecting more to mean more than it does. But I still haven't got the darn thing yet because it's not for sale to North America on the compatible site I bought my vanilla T3 from.

That's nice for you, but most (or at least a good share) of the Tropico community cares probably about the sand box mode - because it is what gives the game long term replayability. T3 fails here compared to T1. It fails because all major good additions focus around a "one-time consumption" of the game and everthing contributing to long term motivation is either completely missing or very poorly executed.
I guess it is part of the zeitgeist today that games overall decline in replayability and become one time experiences. All the attempts to make games more "accessible" most often end up in taking away the challenge and depth.
