I have encountered a bug that makes it impossible for me to proceed with the game. A 'showstopper' or 'game-breaker' class bug, depending on which terms you use.

It occurs at the last stage of the storyline mission 'Mission for Jiju'. After replacing the last satellite, you automatically warp back to Tinmaung system along with Hornblower. Immediately upon arrival, I get a 'Mission failed' message, and is forced to reload an earlier save.

I have attempted the mission several times, including reloading from a much older save, hours further back in the game. The outcome is always the same - instant Mission Failed upon return to Tinmaung, leaving me with no way to progress. My best guess is that it has something to do with my maxed-out 'Piracy' reputation, since I have observed Hornblower turning inexplicably hostile the moment the 'Mission Failed' message appears, and a high Piracy-rep is supposed to make cargo-ships turn hostile... and since Hornblower flies a cargo-vessel, it's possible that this causes some sort of muck-up.


Anyway, barring the discovery of some sort of work-around, this IS a Class-1 Showstopper Bug, despite its apparent randomness, and general software practices state that a launch-product should contain no Class-1 bugs, and 3 Class-2 bugs at most. So I really hope some sort of patch is planned...

If you have Piracy reputation, hornblower will attack you in the Tinmaung system and the mission failed. This bug was fixed in the patch 1.3 for the pc version and it is strange that the bug is still in the game.

This is a job for Timo. The best way is to write a PN to him.

PS: Only way to fix this, is play the game so long that the reputation is erasure. That work in the pc version.

...you forgot to include the most recent patch in the console version? Aw, gimme a break... I mean, considering that there's an achievement that basically ASKS you to rob cargo-ships every chance you get, that seems a bit... unfortunate. I'll try to write a PM to this 'Timo'.

As for the work-around... I assume the marker would need to drop below the 'circle'? That will take a long time. A LONG time. Can you at least tell me if your reputation decreases even if you're idling in a space-station (or just in space), or if you have to jump around and actually DO stuff to make it decrease? If it's the former, I could potentially just leave the game running overnight and while at work...

I played a savegame with this problem and yes it was so long more then 4 hours. Only way to clean your reputation kill a lot Pirates and if you can take missions from the terminal and kill more Pirates and more.................

And yes, this is not fun, i know it, but i think that is the only way to solve this problem at the moment. Better then to start a new game from the beginning or?

The game have more bugs and i hope a patch will released soon.

Anyone know how to lower the rep quickly? This really really sucks!
