Shy RE: Forum
Naturally I don't know if replying to this thread is entirely appropriate.

BUT, I wish to comment that the software seems very appropriate and well managed. It is a nice place to post.

I do wish there was a bit more encouragement to folks to provide a complete filling-in of the basic personal profile information.

Thanks Kalypso!

RE: Forum
The forums might need a place for our community to talk off-topic and get to know each other - I will see what I can do about that. It's rather uncommon for a publisher to have a unified forum for all their products, but we think it's a nice way for our customers to learn about our entire lineup and other people who are enjoying our games. After all, we are a very communicative company and like staying in touch and be honest with the community.

Thanks for the positive feedback, CoconutKid!

RE: Forum
A split-up forum more or less killed the community of Ascaron. I'd rather prefer having everything together in one big forum where one can ask or help others about a specific game and, if there are no questions or tips, you can chat in a small-talk corner, where players of all the different games can meet.

At least, it really reminds me of the Ascaron-Forum before the first split-up with Sacred.

If I'm the admin, I would say that we aren't in the Ascaron.Forum here. Tongue

RE: Forum
To reply to CoconutKid, apparently you HAVE to fill in your date of birth if you edit any of that information due to a lovely bug: Even when you leave it blank, the forum puts an arbitrary "0" as the year and then claims you didn't leave them blank. I can see how many people would rather not give their date of birth, so when the system plays this prank on 'em, they just don't bother.

As a sidenote, I find blocking gmail.com email addresses very archaic in this age of web 2.0 and clouds. I and many that I know almost exclusively use Google's services, as you can fully integrate them with your software and with each other, and Gmail is in my opinion one of the best email client interfaces developed. I realize this is an anti-spam measure, but "having a paid e-mail address" is a policy so from the nineties I'm growing suspenders as I speak. Make the CAPTCHA longer instead.

RE: Forum
