RE: Patch on monday?
Maybe we should have pressed Dennis for a clarification on his promised solution by Monday.
Which Monday?

RE: Patch on monday?
Probably many of you are in the same boat as me.
Yes I could try and get my money back (no sure thing), but I really was looking forward to this game and enjoyed the demo.
So...
although I have never experienced a bug like this in 30 years of pc gaming that out-of-the-box the game disc isn't recognized,
and I don't for the life of me understand why there appears to be an attempt to bundle a hotfix with a multiple-bug fix (just release the hotfix now to allow the buyers the opportunity to play, bugs and all, and fix the bugs later),
...I disappointingly will continue to monitor this forum and hope to see a patch released soon.
Very frustrating!

Wow, that's lame.
I've been waiting for this game for 4 years, pre-ordered it from GameSpot, and paid extra for it to be delivered overnight.... Grand total of about $50 bucks....Just so it could sit on my desk since last Wednesday because apparently there's nobody working in Kalypso's Quality Assurance department, or maybe because they just don't give an imp's bald ass about their customers... because the DVD they sold me apparently has strange properties of invisibility upon insertion to an optical drive.
Boy, don't I feel like a world-class sucker?
I would much prefer a straight answer from these guys, right now. If the No-CD hotfix is going to be delayed for a couple days, please let us know. That way, I'm able to do other stuff instead of haunting D3.com and this forum for hours on end...
So. I guess "Monday" is out. What's it going to be? Next Monday? Next month? Tomorrow? Can we get a clue? I think you owe us that much Kalypso... you have our $40 and all we've got is bitter disappointment.

RE: Patch on monday?
As a 30 year gamer I can say that I am returning this game tomorrow.
I probably wont buy any kalypso products again.
To have such a big issue right out of the new sealed box... Who does that?
Very Dissapointed!

Game Stop is being cool about it - They can take it up with Calypso etc... I refuse to purchase stuff that needs fixing (and cant be fixed) out of the box. Although it is not Game Stops fault they are providing good customer service and I will recommend and do more business with them in the future.

RE: Patch on monday?
Thi is rediculous, I paid full price for Disciples III and there it sits in the box. Due to their error which should've been fixed by day 1, thousands of people have the original disc not found error. As customers, we have a right to at least now their progress, and be compensated for our time and shipping fees..... This is a great example of quality and the good of the consumer not being at the top of Kalypsos list.

RE: Patch on monday?
it would be good to see how many people have tried their non working cd's on other machines. I am running a rubbish 32-bit version of windows 7 and i am unable to detect the game and have the same problems as you guys. I then put the cd into my brothers laptop which is running a 64-bit vista and it works perfectly. Sounds like another amazing windows 7 issue that will be resolved in about a years time

Holy shit, first report of working NA copy?
EDIT: Or at least partially.
That assumes he's using an NA copy. Just to double check, you are using an NA copy, right, Djinn?
If that's the case, does anyone else have 64-bit vista that can confirm?

RE: Patch on monday?
Mine is a UK copy,
May be odd but ive managed to also get it to work on my main computer that it did not work on originally, tried like 6-7 times today with no joy i then changed my auto-play options so that windows opens the cd folder rather than tries to autoplay whatever is on it and when i then put the cd back in the computer opened the cd file where i was then able to click on the steup file and install the game.
so basically 'control panel - Hardware and sound - Auto play, then set 'software and games' to 'open folder to view files using windows explorer'
knowing me i was just lucky and this will be no help to any of you but i hope you guys get it working soon
