dam you must have many computers xD
i tested my on both 32 and 64-bit win7 and both works.. but 32-bit is slow to detect the game :S
i took out the cd and put it in around 10 times before it worked.

RE: Patch on monday?
I have 5, most with more than one OS. I work in IT; networks, web design, and programming. I have to keep like 3 on me at all times lol. I pretty much have 2 nights a week to mess around with games. Last night I spent all night loading it on all my computers... sigh, sad.

no not a dodgy copy just need to get a 64 bit instead of 32, but in response it wasnt slow in detecting it did not detect at all until i changed the autoplay option.

Djin86, the question is not whether it is a "dodgy copy".The answer to the question we wish to know is : Is you CD disk a North American version or a UK or other version of D3?

Oppppsss sorrry I missed that....... Well, then his version is not effected by this error ....only the NA version is having this error.... The game is recognised fine by the computer for instalation.... Its just when you attempt to launch the game that the CD cannot be found.

Holy hell, this is bloody ridiculous. I'm so happy I obtained this game in a legal manner so that I could sit around and wait for a patch to fix a BRAND NEW GAME.

DUDEEE!!! That's fun, I just flushed $50 bucks down the toilet and got way more entertainment out of it...

Heck, I might try burning my money next. That sounds like a hoot!

I can really understand your anger. But first of all I am happy that Kalypso launched D3 in Western Europe/USA, because it is a great game with great potential. The bugs (except copy protection) are akella's issue. So point your anger to akella! Of course it would be gentle if Kalypso has informed us about the situation at the moment.

As a PM, it's kinduv your job to make sure your product works. If the shit hits the fan, it's the PM that takes the heat. They would also get the credit if the product performs beautifully, but alas, this is not the case.

Strategy First has nothing to do with D3.

As we say in Germany, hope dies last. So I still hope the patches will bring us finally a wonderful game.

We are definitely looking to have a solution for the disc detection problem ready by monday, regardless of the bugfix patch being ready or not.

It is now Tuesday here in the states and no disk detection patch in sight or on site.

Not that this is the end of the world, but it is a true disappointment for people like myself who held off all weekend from trying to crack or do something to solve the issue.

I mean, the bugs should not have taken 6 months to fix from the original version, and the disc error should not have been allowed past production of the NA discs...you would have thought that would be tested prior to mass production.

They are being tested -- we are the beta testers -- is not that what you paid your money for? The right to test out a buggy game?

This always frustrates me, where the finger pointing starts and everyone says its not their fault, and by the same token, no one steps up saying "point blank, we screwed up, we know we did this and this wrong, and we will address it." It seems so brutal honesty would some of these companies some good (by ignoring it, its not like they are saving face - everyone can look at how every other thread in these forums is about a bug/complaint) and go about righting the wrongs they made.

As for the launch part, after 6 months from previous releases, the fact it was still released unplayable/buggy makes you wonder what the company did for 6 months? Again, this could be addressed by some statements like "Our game tester was high, and never did his job. Hes been fired, and we are working on it now"

I guess they started working on the expansions to gather some more money.

Too everyone talking about the disk not reading thing, do you all have a cd-dvd disk drive?
Cause that is what is needed to play the game.

Guess you are wrong. Strategy First has no part in it and .dat is the developer.
