Driver feedback
i have been testing the driver feedback and found some inconsistant entries in the data file. These entries give incorrect feedback concerning weight balance and braking force. The data is in the file C:\Program Files\Kalypso Media\Pole Position 2010\DATA\text001.txt

The text is located in the lower section of the file.
The correct version is :-
Rear wing is too low.
Rear wing is too high.
Front wing is too low.
Front wing is too high.
Braking force front is too low.
Braking force front is too strong.
The weight shift is too far in rear of car.
The weight shift is too far in front of car.
Front suspension is too soft.
Front suspension is too hard.
Rear suspension is too soft.
Rear suspension is too hard.
Need more gears!
Axle ratio too low.
Axle ratio too high.
Braking force rear is too low.
Braking force rear is too strong.
Front tire pressure too low.
Front tire pressure too high.
Rear tire pressure too low.
Rear tire pressure too high.
Front camber too low.
Front camber too high.
Rear camber too low.
Rear camber too high.

RE: Driver feedback
Yes i saw that and made a few changes not to make the feedback work but to make what they say sound better. What struck me is the fast there is no "this car setup is good, the frnt wing settings are spot on or anything to indicate your doing the right changes.

RE: Driver feedback
You can quite easily change all this in the text files. Me and Luke159 are changing some things although there is probably some overlap. I have a feeling there will be a big mod coming shortly.

Yes and if all of us work together we can hopefully fix many problems. We should use this topic Mods as the main topic for the mod, we can announce what changes we have made, what we have fixed etc. Hopefully tonight i'll have a beta of what i'm woking on released, then the rest of you guy's can see what i've changed and add your changes to that.

I've done some but I've hit an error with a driver. I think I'll have to reinstall I think. I've got a couple of text files here if you want them.

I have no idea where the save files go.

There are a few files with readable and editable coding in them, I've only found rendering ones so far and it doesn't look like there's much run coding in the folders.

The site i use is http://www.mediafire.com/, its free and not like rapidshare with its 10 download limit for none people who upload things without a premium account. And whats more everything you upload is attached to your account which is free to create and use.

Thanks, I'll stick it all in a zip or rar file once I've got stuff together, take a look at it and stick in your stuff and we'll unleash it upon the world.

RE: Driver feedback
KK, sounds good. The good thing is we are working in different files to one another. I'm learning how to edit this game because its not the kind of code i'm use to, so something i won't be able to edit due to not knowing where to look.

I want to edit the overall perfromace of each team, so that the small team's don't get really good internal parts like they do at the moment, not even sure if thats even possible to edit.

RE: Driver feedback
I don't think that the performance stars on the start screen affect performance on the track. I changed Stefan GP up to 90 and they still had a 3star chassis. I think it affects things like sponsors, motivation etc.

I've done some work with the nationalities, and it has affected the drivers.txt file. If you've changed that I'll just need to go through it and rectify the nationality numbers.

Almost online now.

RE: Driver feedback
No the stars doesn't effect there on track performance, it does as you said effects sponsors etc. I need to figure out how to edit there on track performance, but where to look is the problem.

Ok here you go bud, i have made it more easier to see each driver's value's. http://www.mediafire.com/file/09rxormhln...driver.txt

Ok looking at Team_Data i have worked out that its 4 value's per team. Here is the original value's (edited to be easier to read).
Code:
1 3 0 17
2 2 0 31
3 4 0 9
4 2 0 2
5 28 0 0
6 4 0 21
7 4 0 21
8 2 0 1
9 2 0 42
10 9 0 4
11 7 0 32
12 2 0 5
13 2 0 1
14 1 0 0
15 5 0 0
16 10 0 16
17 8 0 0
18 1 0 19
19 16 0 5
20 2 0 5

Now i figure the first value is the teamlogo image, then i have no idea. Maybe the second value's effect what the quality of the internal parts are avilable to them, the second i think would be external parts and the final value ??

RE: Driver feedback
I get different team data. String starts 1 22 94 31 2 11 62 34 3 2 90 3

So 1 22 94 31
2 11 62 34
3 2 90 3

First is logo image, Second is Nationality, Third is displayed Performance Index. Just figured out the fourth is car colour.
For the Driver File the String is a data base.
Each number represents the following.
Button, Jenson;1 30 100 2 69 3 2012 50000 100000 81 1 702000 170 7 7 333 2 1 76 57 73 84 83 62 85 82
Name; Image Age ??? Nationality Weight Team ContractYear WinBonus ChampBonus Fan% Driver1or2 Salary

Next 6 are career stats in order followed by the 8 attribute stats.

RE: Driver feedback
I changed it to non-EU. Doesn't make sense to have 1 of 40 nationality spaces taken up by Malaysia when it only is used for 1 team. Sorry if you're Malaysian. The new nationalities take into consideration typical nationalities currently found in F1. I may change some of the round, it's not difficult to do. Let me know your thoughts and I'll add it to the list.

RE: Driver feedback
u got the northern ireland flag wrong. hoho.

yes. true. its only 1 team n 1 driver from malaysia. i don't think adding malaysia is necessary. yep, easy to edit anyway so i don't think it would be a problem if u change ur mind later.

in my opinion on the nationality issue, i don't think seperating Great Britain is necessary. as it save space for other nation such as france and japan. france especially. its just an opinion.

RE: Driver feedback
It is quite easy to change it back and change the flags. Secretly I think I've too many English. I'll hack away at it today and change it. Needs more French and Italians.
