The devs said that releasing Tropico 4 for console was a "maybe" at the time of the announcement, and it sounded to me like they were leaning towards no.

I vote nay, and for several reasons. First off, it probably would be a bit stripped down like T3 was for 360 (no challenge editor, smaller pop cap etc..), and I want the full deal next time around. Next, the UI, while reasonably well adapted to the console version, would simply work much better on the PC. I got annoyed with not being able to click popup messages, as well as limited and/or awkward control in some other circumstances. Support is a different issue in and of itself, but I just got the general feeling that it will be considerably better for PC. Bottom line is I seriously doubt I'd buy a game like T4 for console.

Don't get me wrong, I love T3. I still play my console version regularly. But if I going to get the sequel, I'm just going to wait until I get enough $$ to burn for a nice PC to play it on. I don't want my Tropico 4 experience to be a half-measure due to the limitations of the console.

i hate to say it but your right. the pc version is better since the dev's created the game for pc, thus meaning all the patch's, game add ons, and better gaming experience would be created for pc.

While I don't actually own any consoles I voted yes. I would think that even a half measure version for console is better then none for those that really like the game and either prefer the more relaxing and sociable aspect of the console compared to the PC or simply don't have a PC capable of playing the game. However, I do think that limitations such as pop caps for instance should be made more obvious to the console customer so that they arn't frustrated by unknown limitations that messup their gameplay.

Playing Tropico 3 on the 360, if it didn't get released on here, I would never have played it. I love my pc, but for the internet, not games. So yes, it should be on consoles.

Id also have to say the 360 is anything but limited, look at halo reach, they're offering forge world which gives you the ability to design a level almost from the ground up. Id say it was the companies fault, not microsofts.

The only 2 games I've really played on my pc were roller coaster tycoon and the sims.

I voted yes even though I don't own a console & probably never will (they don't really appeal to me).

However I would suggest that the developers wait before creating the console version to allow most (if not all) of the bugs & development issues to have been worked out on the PC version. This might go some way to avoid the problems that 360 players have had getting support for their platform with T3.

I have Tropico 3 for Xbox, and a suitable PC to play it on. However, I am boycotting the 4th Installment as they haven't bothered to update the Xbox version...............OR posted on here on where they are with the Xbox patch. Due to the lack of interest from these people means Tropico 4 get a big middle finger from me.

I voted yes because I think ore of these games should come out for console players. I don't have Tropico 3 on the xbox, although I did purchase the PC version (and add-on) yesterday... Played it for a while, it was fun (and frustrating ) and I was wondering how comparable it is on the xbox, because it'd be far more comfortable playing it on the couch on my big screen as opposed to my small cramped computer room and uncomfortable desk chair...

Absolutely it should come out for consoles, there are too few strategy/city-building games for consoles as it is, and too many crappy first-person shooters. I bought both the PC and Xbox versions, I like to support smaller developers that produce innovative games.

Also, it seems to be doing pretty well on Xbox, according to Amazon it's the #7 best-selling strategy game, outselling both Command & Conquer 3 games and Dynasty Warriors 5.

(Those figures may be a bit skewed--more people probably got it from Amazon because it was difficult to find at retail. Also, not sure what Rainbow Six Vegas and Double Agent are doing on that list, I'd hardly call them strategy games.)

I'd like to see them get Tropico 3 fixed before they start another one.

I highly approve for a console version I fell left out when they announced the Absolute power expansion for Tropico 3 only for the PC. Im not the kind of guy that wants to sit in front of a computer when there is a perfectly good console that I can play the exact same game on the comfort of my bed.

Yes please. As long as they fix the load save bug, nothing else would matter to me.

T3 is out to console now, although it was originally made to PC, if it is that way aways, then my vote is yes, otherwise, no.
I see things like this:
console >> average players, families, kids. It's an easy-to-use and keep hardware, cheap, reliable (less crashes and etc), standardized (non need to worry with compatibility issues) and etc. But it's limited like any other cheap standardized easy to use techonology.
PC >> hard core, don't care about money, don't care about alien hardware players. It's hard to use, expensive, requires a lot of time and care, crashes more often and requires knowledge. But sky is the limit, if you, like me, like PCs not only as an Internet/game/work platform, but as a hobby (like car lovers), then spending time with your PC is no problem and you can get real shit out of it.

What I mean is that I understand the need for consoles, don't think that they are trash, of course I would like to see games coming out to consoles. But what pisses me off is to see games getting nerfed/limited only to run on consoles, e.g. CRYSIS 2, PCs nowadays are capable of much better graphic than consoles but still crysis 2 on PC will have the same graphics as in PS3 and 360, same freaking engine, i'm brazilian and we have a phrase for this kind of thing that i'll try to translate here: "nivelar por baixo - leveling everything to the 'low' level". T3 is an edge game, it requires a lot from the system, but it allows us to have this amazing game, it would be a shame to see the an eventual T4 coming up with just a few more stuff just to fit consoles limitations.

I voted yes. I own Tropico 3 for Xbox 360 and I absolutely love it. Tropico 4 should definitely come out for Consoles it means a new game for me and more customers for Kalypso

not against it comming out on consoles, more revenue for the company, however im a P.C. gamer myself.

They only released T3 for the X-box 360 and the same for t4. As the x-box machine is essentially a standardised pc, the only difference is the control mechanism. IE Mouse + keyboard verses controller...

To this day I do not understand how console gamers manage without a mouse. I can't play an fps without one, let alone an rts!

I would love it for my PS3 because my computer is getting old.
