"no counting house or convoy present"
How am I supposed to trade is all the cities I go to have the "no counting house or convoy" message. It keeps coming up when I want to simply buy a good from my city and trade it with another. How can I solve this problem. Please help.

Sail your ship over to the city you want to trade with, then you'll be able to buy or sell things from that city (until your ship leaves). Later when you get further in the game, you'll likely have warehouses in a number of cities, and then you'll have a permanent presence there (and won't need to sail a ship there to buy/sell things, though you will still be sailing many ships to transfer goods from one city to another).
hi thank you for your reply. I'm still in a stoop. I just bought the game today and just want to complete the very first task at hand which is to simply buy and sell goods to another city (the very first thing you do in campaign mode). I can't even do that. I dunno if its a bug orr something but I don't know how to visit other cities. I've looked at videos online and did the samething they did (even the trade tutorial) and still am having trouble. =( I really just want to get through this so I can enjoy the rest of the game.

Make sure your ship is selected (if in doubt, click the city it's currently in then click your ship in that city). Then go to the world map, and right-click on a city you want to go to. It will take a while to get there, so you probably want to speed up time by pressing "+" on your number pad. Remember you can press "-" to slow the game back to normal speed again. You'll be able to see your ship traveling (it's the one with the blue sail) on the world map.
Once your ship arrives in the new city, again make sure it's selected (it should already be, but in case you deselected it, select it again). Then click on one of the little green cranes near the harbor of that city to trade. Click & drag one of the goods' sliders to the right to buy, click & drag it to the left to sell. Once you're happy with the deals you've made, go back to the world map, right-click on another town, speed up time, etc. and repeat.
If you have trouble, keep coming back to this forum for help.
