Some islands I've generated have higher-altitude areas completely surrounded by rocks. These are often the areas I'd like to plant my coffee farms on if I could. But because of the rocks, I can't see a way to get any roads into these areas.

If I plant coffee farms in these areas, will citizens be able to get to them in order to work them?

Yes.

just put a garage at the base of the mountain, tropicans can walk up mountains just as fast as they walk across your city..

If you also put a garage at the top of a large upper plateau (not accessible by car) and a garage next to the farm (let's say it was the other end) would a teamster pick up goods, go to near garage, drive to garage at top of cliff, then wheelbarrow down the mountian to the garage at the bottom and then drive to the factory/docks???

it will only drive if its attached to a road.. But if the road doesnt connect to the destination, it will just walk. LIke if you have a road that only goes half way, it will just walk the whole distance. (teamsters, perhaps its not the same, but i think it is..) builders i know will definatly walk the whole way. I figured this out as i had a break in one of my roads and wondered why builders would only walk to a certain area on the island, when roads went the same way. One road wasnt connected about half way across the island.. they walked the whole way.


remember though, many of those high places, will have a road access somewhere.. some take a while to find. Others dont. it all depends on the island.
