Hi all,
I've seen a few topics about this subject, but in most there isn't a sufficient solution for this problem. So I started a new thread about it...

I bought Grand Ages Rome Gold edition today, on steam.
When I try to play the game, a windows pops up and says:

"Critical error

You need a supported DX9-compatible video card with a recent driver to play this game. Check our website for a list of supported chipsets."

It's strange, because I've played the demo without troubles before I bought the game. Also, I downloaded this game illegaly a year ago, and have played it without having any problems for a month or so.

My tech specs:
Operating system - Windows 7 Ultimate edition 64 bits (Nederlands - dutch)
Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.40 GHz
RAM - 3,00 GB
HDD - 1 TB
Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB

My graphics card is even directx 11 compatible, so I don't get what the problem is...

Could anybody help me out? I'd love to play the game...

Did you install DirectX 9? Because that could solve it.

i had the same problem with the italian version of ''GRAND AGES: ROME REIGN OF AUGUSTUS'' named '' Imperium Online''. i find the solution in the distributor's website here. you will find the patch (16MB).
