I wasn't you referring to you directly, sir. I was referring to his supporters in the news article. Why Baby Doc has any support just seems, in a nutshell, irrational.

To be perfectly clear, I rank his return on the disaster scale just below the earthquake, and just above the cholera outbreak. In fact, considering the cholera outbreak, Haiti just doesn't need any more crap dumped on it.

My opening post was meant to be satirical. Voodoo was integral to the Papa Doc hold on power, and later with Jean-Claude "Baby Doc". The Tonton Macoute was a brutal tool of oppression, so my "reboot" was meant to be a derogatory pun.

Pardon, but you are looking for rationality in public attitudes -- be it on politics, sports, or personal hygiene products. That's not to mention food selection.

People want regular meals, work and stability before all those crazy liberal ideas.

A lot of Hatians can't remember any stability since Baby Doc. Who knows if the CIA armed forces pushed him out?

As long as he does something good for the Haitian people, I don't care.
