Starting from the beginning is not necessary.
Your old savegames should be compatible with the new version 1.3. of the game. However if you encounter savegame compatibility problems here simply click the "Campaign"-Button in the main menu (first button from the top) and the game will load your last profile and show you the campaign selection map. This way you can simply restart your last mission anew without restarting the whole the game.

Ok - that should not happen and I have not heard of this problem yet.

What happens exactely when you try to save? Does the game promt an error message?

Also it would be great if you could send the log file
%appdata%\Kalypso Media\Dungeons\log.txt
to support@realmforgestudios.com or post it in this forum (using code-tags) in order to find the reason for the problem.

It does state that I can press coninue, but it does not save the game.

There's a problem with savegames. Whenever I try to load one from the main menu, I get a message saying the game could not be loaded, but the campaign was saved.



When I try to delete a savegame on a map, I get this error:

New saves have the same problem. I've been playing the game for quite a while and this is the first time this problem has occurred. No changes have been made to my system as far as I'm aware of.

Dxdiag:

This problem occurs after you installed Version 1.3 of DUNGEONS whenever you open the Load/Save Dialog and have savegames from DLC- or Mod- Singleplayer Maps of a previous version of the game.

Please note that all savegames of the campaign and of custom game maps delivered with the game work fine.

We will adress this issue with a future patch.
In the meantime you can manually delete or move non working savegames from the directory
%appdata%\Kalypso Media\Dungeons\savegames
and try again.

Please let us know if this didn't fix your problems with the game.

I've manually deleted the corrupted savegames, and after reinstalling the game my new saves are fine.

Just for the record and if other users should encounter the same problem: reinstalling the game ist not necessary. Deleting/moving the corrupted savegames is enough.

After the issues installing I've run into an issue. When I first tried to play the campaign (all I tried so far) I could not see the goblin, he was a hundred lines of stretched colors like he was going into warp speed, big black blocks, camera stuck under the ground, and mini map and camera was bouncing back and forth. I lowered resolution, brought graphics down to minimum, goblin popped up but camera kept bouncing back and forth with massive choppiness. Brought resolution down to minimum, camera stopped getting stuck and I could see the goblin but again it was so laggy it took me 4 minutes to walk down the hall. My computer is aging but as it can run StarCraft II, League of Legends, and that sort of thing I figured it wasn't because it was too weak as of yet. But I don't know now and I can't afford a new computer yet so I'm really hoping it's something easily fixable. Sending e-mail with stats.

I don't know if people still reply to this, but here's my problem...
I can get through the launcher, signed in with my email and everything, but when I press "Play Dungeons" all I get is a black screen with the cursor for about 5-10 seconds, and then it gives me an error message and brings me back to the desktop.
I hope someone reads this because I was really excited to get this and now I can't get it starting.

i bet Dungeons will not run on your machine! RAM too low, graphics too weak.

But what you must do is update your software:
- Windows XP has got a Service Pack 3
- video driver are from 2005
- sound driver are from 2005

Especially the first point is important for the security of your computer...let microsoft do their updates...

I am getting an unnamed error in a window which does not have any sort of error number or code, it just tells me that a critical error has occurred. This happens after the intro on a new campaign. When I attempt to try to start a Custom Game, it comes up with a different error. Sadly this makes the entire game unplayable. I have details of the error below.

So I bought the game from a store. seems to be the original. When I try to run it, it looks like it is going to start then it gives me an error saying that System32 file d3dx9_43.dll is either not designed to run on Windows, or it contains an error.

Tried reinstalling direct x and .net framework. reinstalled the game. I'm wondering if the actual files from the CD have an error. If that is the case, would it be possible to get a game code for steam so I could try activating it there instead of installing it from the physical copy I have?

Just bought the DVD version of the game and installed it. I logged in and hit the Update button to try and update to 1.3. The file states that it is 91.92MB. It downloads it and when it tries to install it I get a pop-up error that is titled "Extraction failed" and the message in the box says "File is corrupt". I have restarted the launcher 3 times and tried to install this 4 times, but it keeps failing. I am trying to patch from version 1.0.0.3. Launcher version is 1.1.4.0.

Trying to extract the exe manually results in the following error:! C:\dungeons_update.exe: CRC failed in dungeons_enfr_1.0.0.3_1.3.1.2.msp. The file is corrupt

FYI: Default extraction tool for my OS is WinRar if this helps. I have no other extraction tools installed (other than the default OS one).

Please assist.

UPDAT: I managed to extract the exe with 7zip, but trying to install the .msp file produced an error with the cab file PCW_CAB_enfr. Looks like the patch needs to be repackaged.

So, I've had the game for a long time. Used to play it, and other than the steep learning curve, it's been great. I recently came back to play some more, and I have an odd graphics hitch. All of the characters look stretched to another. Ex, the textures of two goblins form lines that connect them, through whatever. How might I go about fixing this?

I'm having problems with the updater. I've purchased the game from Impulse, and purchased some of the DLC from Impulse and some directly from Kalypso. I haven't played in a while and I'm trying to install onto my laptop.

The updater starts, and lists the versions as Kalypso Launcher 1.2.0.13 and Dungeons 1.2.2.1. It has my email address (the same as this account) and my password. When I hit continue, it prompts to "Download additional content for DUNGEONS (1.79MB)?" If I choose Download, it downloads dlc_dlc1-goty.dat and dlc_dlc2-goty.dat files to AppData\Roaming\Kalypso Media\Dungeons\dlc, and the launcher changes has a button that says "Play DUNGEONS". At this point, I can play the game, and everything works fine, except that it's missing some of the DLC.

The next time I fire up the launcher, it does exactly the same thing. It offers to download the additional content, downloads the same two files, and doesn't apply them.

The launcher won't go on past this - it tries to download the same DLC every time, but never applies it. It also doesn't download the newest patch (1.3), which I assume it would do if it could ever finish the DLC, but that's just a guess on my part.

I'm not having any trouble with the game - it runs version 1.2.2.1 just fine and I can play it, but I would really like to get the fixes in the 1.3 version.

Any help would be appreciated.

i'm not sure what your issue is, but i just re-installed yesterday and had an issue.. What got it working for me was a restart.. I installed the net 4.0 framework, restarted, then continued. I think i ended up rebooting a couple times during installation. Was weird cause i didn't have to do that the last time i installed. It is worth a shot.. basically i installed one update, rebooted, then went to the next..

Thanks for thinking about it. I've been fighting with this on and off for about a month, and tried it on two different computers. I've definitely rebooted numerous times. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch, always with the same result. When I run it the first time after a fresh install, it asks for my game code, and then runs through one set of updates. Those updates (some of the DLC) run fine. The next time that I run, it says there are some more updates, and begins the cycle of downloading the updates and not applying them.

My gut feeling is there is something screwed up with my account information in Kalypso's systems, but that's a complete guess on my part.
