RE: Tropico 4 Cover
Hmmm, doesn't look bad. But it is very similar to the Tropico 3 cover. Good find though.

A volcano ? They said that you will have to deal with disasters. I can also recognize a balloon...( same function as in AP ? )

The presidenté's seem more modern.
That fact coupled with the fact that we'll have Europe, China and the middle East as superpowers, perhaps the game is going to be in the present/future instead of the past, like T3?

RE: Tropico 4 Cover
I had never thought of it being set closer to present day ! that would be kinda cool if it was. It would make sense too, following the story of Tropico a little further.

-I just thought, in another screen shot it shows a big tourist cruiser. This could be another clue to a more modern setting??

RE: Tropico 4 Cover
The play time in T3 is 60 years, or to the year 2010. Cell phone ownership has been growing since the 1990, so it makes perfect sense that cells emerge in Tropico at later stages of the game. Maybe the play time in T4 will be extended even further Smile

That raises the question of the mausoleum; will El Presidente be able to die? What other uses are for this building? Can the player continue after El Presidente dies from old age?

RE: Tropico 4 Cover
Modern? Cell phones?

It sounds like the Simcity Societies.

I'm not protesting but the dev may develop another version e.g Yankee-o 1 or Uncle Sam 1 with the same play with Tropico's but under modern architecture, high-rise buildings, multilanes high-way, etc. This is a good idea, too. We will see another race b'tween The Elephants vs The Donkeys, Obama vs Bush.

And, it will sound logical for sci-fi to appear in the game than it's in the present T3 now_a backward tropical island.

Why should we be insisting in a tropical tiny island while the world is so wide ?

As soon as sci fi appears, I'm out of here.

You are El Presidente, so if you die, it's game over. Doesn't that happen already battling with rebels?

well MAYBE you will have to make your own family like in Rome:total war -when your faction leader dies he gets replaced by another one.I would like to see whole dynasty of totalitarian bastards but they rule in different time periods from cold war to modern times.

That was exactly what I was thinking. Maybe it will be possible to continue playing after presidentes death through his children. That would at least give the mausoleum some practical use.

mausoleum-maybe if you make a dynasty you could check family's history there. Who ruled before and how long did he/she rule...

It sounds a mornachy will happen in T4. The throne will be succeeded generation by generation.

RE: Tropico 4 Cover
If a monarchy was to be put in place for T4, Wouldn't the developers have told us about it? When if El Presidente is able to have a family, it would be a big adjustment to the game and im sure the T4 developers would have told us about it by now. But what I wish they'd put in T4 is a better democratic election system.. So the majority fraction elects someone to run against el presidente and they have a more democratic election.. And each fraction can get larger and more powerful by bribing people, or getting others to join.

It sounds like the situation now in North Korea.

If I'm not wrong the successor of the present pesident may be designed to his youngest son.

And their missiles programs, omg, similar to T3 AP, lol. Smile

RE: Tropico 4 Cover
I just find it strange that Europe wasn't included earlier, didn't they have a huge influence on the Carribean? (Though I do hope the English tourists no longer sound like what Americans think British people sound like, only 3% of the country speaks RP).

Anyway, back to topic, I like the cover, though it does seem a bit too similar to T3's, though the Che looks good. Are those in the background supposed to represent ministers?
