Will Tropico 4 be using Steamworks for DRM, or feature Steam achievements for the Steam version of the game?

For crying out loud NO! Let's not hope so... Achievements would have been nice though.

What is so bad about steam? As a perpetual disk-loser I am more than thankful for having a permanent backup available for me so that even if I get a new computer, or fry my hard drive or uninstall it to make room, I can AlWAYS have the option to re-install it, even years later.

You can't play on two computers at once. Here, I prefer GamersGate over Steam, also they have extremely SLOW download speeds. It's not my network, I download with 2.5-3.5MB/S from GamersGate. I am lucky if I even reach 1MB from Steam.

The good things about Steam is that it is extremely easy to find games, and it is a better DRM than that shitty Ubisoft thingy.

But as I said, you can't play the game on two computers at once. That's why I hope there will be no such thing as a Steam DRM on Tropico 4.

For the love of all thats holy, NO, no way in H......
Let those that wants steam buy it on steam.
Let the sane rest of us get steam free versions. (that meaning, no steam needed if buying retail disk, or gamersgate, d2d, Impulse or quite a few years down the path GoG version).

Nope, no Steam Integration.
We will use our Kalypso Launcher for DRM.
