Will there be an English version of Resurrection and following D3 releases by akella ? Will there be a patch for the English version of D3 Renaissance released by kalypso?

Kalypso Media will localize and publish Disciples III: Resurrection in the international market. Please wait for the press releases.

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
The russian devs always point to Kalypso when asked about the international release or patches but nothing ever happened. Why should Kalypso release Resurrection if the Gold version is already planned for august and Resurrection is still buggy ?

Don't hold your breath.

Can anyone please explain to me how this happened? From what i know as a kid D2 was a fairly succesfull game,so who got the bright idea to sell it to a group of Russians who have zero intention to make a game for the general population??

Dont get me wrong people,i dont have anything against Russians,i just dont get why sell a good game know world wide,to a company that only intends to sell it to one country in particular.

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
They intended to sell it worldwide but are slow with their updates and Kalypso isn't reliable either. So a small dev team met a small publisher. No idea what additional trouble they had behind closed doors.

Nifty. Smile I wonder if I'll pick that up or wait for a platinum edition. Buying it 3 times might get irritating.

At this moment we can say that it not true. At this stage we can not tell anything about the addon or gold-version. It this not planned at this moment due to other issues which we can't tell.

OMG.. this cannot be! Lets examine this for a second..

The poster's name is in green. Check.
There is a 'Kalypso Media' tagline under it. Check.
There is a statement on the game's state. Check.

<sniff> Miracles do indeed happen! Kalypso speaks on the D3 forums!

Dear Kalypso, since it turns out that you're actually reading this, how about replying to other important questions on these forums which you either ignored or deleted?

For instance, do you have any intention of releasing further patches? Patch 1.06.2 did not fix many major reported bugs which still make hotseat mode not worth playing. I am fairly certain these bugs have long since been fixed in the Russian version.

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
They apparently have been silent in the German forums as well. There was a post made by an admin, a couple months ago or so, that their silence was because they had 'nothing to announce'.

It's frankly odd. Most of the posts they make elsewhere under Dungeons, Tropico, Patrician, etc.. aren't 'announcements', they are just dialogue with their customers.

A smart thing to do. Yet, they have chosen to cut off this conversation with the Disciples crowd.

It smells of legal to me.

When Akella announced that Kalypso is the international partner for the gold edition release, I was surprised. It doesn't add up. But now I see the post from Kalypso, and things are obviously more convoluted.

There is definitely stuff going on in the background. Contractual breaches possibly through mishandling of the no cd fix issue, perhaps other stuff. I'm just guessing. I have no inside info. But for them to just sh*tcan the support by not patching the game, and not even posting a smilie on the Disciples forums usually means that legally they are watching their steps with this franchise. It's better to not do things, as inaction cannot be used against you in such matters.

If this isn't so, then Kalypso single handedly wins the worst customer service award in the Universe.

Well said Wabbit. You are very wise (I hope that doesn't sound sarcastic, that is certainly not my intention).

I for one accept the dominion of our Kalypso overlords and would like to hear from them more. Shy

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
There isn't anything new in the description of this gold edition. I had envisioned that the gold edition would include the Undead. Looks like its just a repackage of the original Renaisance. I wonder if it has even been patched beyond 1.06.3?

I'm leary of D3 addons, gold versions after how D2 was handled. If my math is correct, they released about 6 versions of D2. The original, Dark prophecy, the other XP that I can't recall the name. A version with the original and both XP's. The Original with the Elves, and a version with original, both XP's and the Elves.

It seems like the exact same thing is happening. Just releasing the same game over and over. One thing I know, is not to buy any US version. Tongue

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
I have not been to this site in several months. Maybe I'm out of the loop. Maybe Amazon has been know to have placeholders for products that years later never released (Star Trek and Stargate on Blu-Ray comes to mind).

But I still see that not only will the US Undead Hordes expansion be released in May, but they are accepting preorders. This is also true with the Gold version. And the date has not changed. My suggestion would be that if this game isn't going to be released as Amazon claims that they should be notified to not take preorders. It only makes sense.

Also the fact that the developer states they are tongue tied and cannot talk about either package that it is indeed going to be released in one form or another. Otherwise there'd be no need to keep a secret.

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
There has been news on several German online games magazines yesterday/today about the publishing of D3 Resurrection based on a press release by Akella from 29 April:
http://en.akella.com/News.aspx?id=763

Not sure what it means, maybe Akella themselves will be publishing the Add-On in US/EU/Rest of the World? (Kalypso has made a statement in the German forum here today again that they have "nothing new to announce").

Keeping my fingers crossed that things get into motion finally for an English release...

I think it may be a distinct possibility that Akella will be publishing the Disciples 3: Resurrection. One reason may be the english translation they included in the russian patch for Resurrection. This could be viewed in two ways:
1. They don't trust Kalypso enough to localize the game themselves, seeing what a "great" job they did with the original D3, but Kalypso will still publish the game
2. They planned to release the expansion themselves from the start, probably because the negative feedback from all the users here on the forums and Kalypso's general lack of any kind of dialogue with their users and buyers here on the forums, so the translation they released with the patch may be viewed as a kind of a probe, to see if the users are happy with the translation they did and to see what parts need to be rectified before the release.
This is all speculation, of course, but still plausible. As always, time will tell...

RE: Disciples 3 gold edition
Taking into consideration Kalypso´s latest reply in the German forum saying that they have nothing new to announce, neither an Add-On nor a gold version and that their responsibility is limited to having had published the main game and nothing more, I´d guess that your option 2 is more probable.

I think it might even be possible that by giving out that press release, Akella wants to generate some new buzz and interest from the public and esp. other publishers they might want to work with for the publishing of the Add-On in the markets that haven´t been served so far.
