Exclamation TFT does not work with G35 Headset...
TFT does not work with my G35 headset. I am not the only person to report this on the STEAM forums. I trouble shot the game.. if my G35 is unplugged or disabled the game launches BUT if the G35 is active or plugged in the game crashes after the Snow Capped Mountain loadscreen comes up. I get 'TFT error has occurred....". All drivers up tp date. I have ONLY ONE sound device and need this issue fixed or I shall return the game. I will not purchase another sound device for game.

Windows 7 64/bit, GTX 260, 8 GIG Mem, G35 Headset,Razor Key Board, etc.....

Cheers

Any Idea on the time frame for the fix? I have a game I can't play... I understand that stuff happens but if you bought something that did not work would you not be upset and not pleased with the product?

Did any of you G35 users try to disable the 7.1 upmix feature?

The feature should not be active for me since I simply set stereo headphones as my only sound device. I will try it when I get home... though honestly if I do not use 7.1 how can that be the problem?

I will post later this evening US Eastern.

Does the G35 only plug in via USB or does it have a seperate adapter to plug it into the sound card like the Creative Sigmas.

The G35 only plugs in via USB.

Here's another solution:

Go to Device Manager (Start menu > Right click Computer > Click Properties > Click Device Manager)

Expand sound, video and game controllers category. Right click the Logitech G35 driver and choose "Update Driver Software".

Next choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and then choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

One of the options should be USB Audio Device. Select that option, click next, and install this driver.

Did that already and no go.... I am to the point I will be returning the software and get a refund.

RE: TFT does not work with G35 Headset...
I registered for these forums just so I could post on this topic.

Let me start by sharing my system specs

Intel Core2 Quad, Q9650 @ 3GHz
G.SKILL 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 Dual Channel
Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 (4GB Video Memory)
Windows 7 (64bit)

And let us not forget: Logitech G35 Headset

All of my drivers are updated, so do not tell me to update my drivers. I train the people who tell you how to fix your computer for a living, so I'd like you to assume that I have done all basic trouble shooting before coming here to post, because I have. This is not an isolated issue to just some people with G35's, it is everyone with a G35, so instead of wasting time having users perform various troubleshooting steps that won't resolve the issue, how about you guys fix the coding of the game to work with a USB headset?

I have no other audio alternative and if playing the game means having to play it without sound, then I would really like my money back. I know things like this happen, that's why I've waited patiently for you guys to patch. Another game I played for years released an update that caused the game to crash if my G35 was enabled, just like TFT does. However that company had the issue resolved in less than 4 days and I was able to play the game again.

Right now you're losing sales on a game that is already getting poor reviews and now you have users like myself and other posters who are steering our friends away from the game. I had purchased this title with hopes of playing it until Hunted came out, but as the days tick by and tons of other quality co-op titles round the corner, TFT is losing all interest to me. So instead of getting my brother a copy so we could play through the campaign, I've had to tell him to hold off until you guys patch the game.

That's the question though, is Kalypso ever going to patch the game? I'm usually not one to complain about lack of updates, or even any technical issues in general because I usually beta test most games. However, this game has been out a while now, and I open up steam every day hoping to see an update for TFT, yet nothing. Day in and day out, nothing. Not a single update, not even an attempt to fix the issue or any further updates from you(the developer) on the status of a fix for this problem.

This is going to be one of the few times I say this, and I really hate to have to say this since this is my first time playing a game by Kalypso, but if this is how you guys address client updates for an issue that prevents people from even loading the game, then I won't be purchasing any more titles with your company name on the box.

If you need dxfiles or diagnostic results from the crash, then post now and I'll get you that info. Better yet, go and buy a G35 and see for yourself. Just please remedy this issue quickly because even as patient a person as I am, I'm growing really tired of waiting for you guys to let me play a game I bought weeks ago.

RE: TFT does not work with G35 Headset...
I returned the game and got a refund.... it is just ridiculus that a game gets released and it cannot support one of the most popular gaming headsets out there. And NO... I do not have another speaker system and should NOT have to purchase one for a game. To bad... the game from what I had read has potential but not at the cost of me having to purchase additional USB speakers.

I know it's not an excuse, but lots of games have problems with the G35 headset, including the recently released The Witcher 2. There's something with Logitech's drivers that breaks compatibility with DirectSound.

We have reproduced the issue and solved it by using the solutions posted above.

Timo,
What is the fix? Could you sticky the fix? If it is fixed I would re-purchase the game when I can because I was very interested in it.

BTW- not to be argumentative or rude...I do own Witcher 2 and it is <correction>... BLAH.. not working.. Sad

Cheers

I've had the G35 since it came out and I highly disagree with your statement that it has problems with "lots of games". I have over 90 games on my steam account along with some other non-steam games and only once has the G35 ever been the cause of a problem. That game was League of Legends and as I stated in my previous post, they had it resolved in 4 days. Even then, the issue was ALL USB headsets and not just the G35.

Since the fix you've posted is the exact same as the one posted for the Witcher 2 and you posted it 3 days after this post, then you should also be aware this solution will limit me to stereo sound on all the other games I play.

I just need to know one thing at this point: Are you working on a fix for this issue so that the game is compatible with a G35, or am I going to be required to rollback to stock drivers when ever I want to play TFT? If the case is the latter, then I'll be requesting a refund because as you can imagine, I'm not too fond of the idea of having to switch between audio drivers when ever I want to switch which game I'm playing.

I'm not trying to be rude, but it's only fair you keep those of us with G35's updated on whether you're working on an actual fix or just settling for a temporary work around.

Like others I just want to ask if y'all can say if you are even attempting to address the issue or planning on just leaving it with saying to roll back drivers every time you want to play the game. The few levels I've played have been more than worth the money; but I purchased the game to play coop, and if my roommate can't play then we just wasted $60. I don't want to have to constantly check to see if there are any updates if you guys aren't even planning on fixing a major game breaking issue.

Please just tell us if a fix is in the works or not.

OK I'll assume at this point that the answer is a no, and y'all are quite happy to say go screw yourself is the fix you found and leave it at that. I won't say I'll never buy another game with your name on it, but at least now I know that you do not support your products and ignore game breaking bugs so should never be purchased from till the game has been out long enough to know if it is even playable.

RE: TFT does not work with G35 Headset...
They're never going to fix it, don't bother waiting. Game has been out several months now and they haven't released a single patch.

Timo, you know how you used the fact that other games have problems with the G35 as an excuse? Well here's what separates KalyspoMedia from other developers, they actually patch their games and fix problems rather than just accepting a temporary work around as a permanent solution: http://en.thewitcher.com/patch1-2/

You'll notice Projekt Red released this patch on June 3rd which is less than 15 days after the Witcher 2 came out. So while I know you'd like to just sit there and blame the user's hardware, it's not a very smart business practice. I've already gotten my money refunded so I'm no longer invested into whether or not you fix the G35 issue but you should include a disclaimer on your system requirements for the game stating that it does not support the G35 or similar 5.1/7.1 USB headsets.

I know my money is just a drop in the bucket, but based on your sales figures: http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/392...-of-kings/ I'd think you could use every drop you could get.

The Witcher 2 on the other hand could easily have taken the same approach you did with the G35 issue especially considering they've sold far more units: http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/392...-of-kings/ but they actually chose to fix the issue instead.

In the interest of full disclosure, I probably will still play TFT at some point in the future, but I'll just pick up a used copy from a bargain bin to make sure none of my money ever reaches your wallets.
