Got Stuck
I have tried Viva Tropico, Greed & Cursed Island repeatedly without success. With the first I run out of money as I'm approaching 65% so can't give them the final goodies. With Greed, I suffer a palace revolution. Don't even know where to start with Cursed Island. Everything is destroyed as soon as I build it.
Help please!

RE: Got Stuck
With ALL islands you have listed, you need to create factories to generate money. As in all games, building a tv station (with 2 factories), allows you to submit the advertisment edict. This increases profit.

1)viva= I created one cigar factory and 3 tobacco farms. (sold both oil wells). Away from the palace, on the larger flat area, I created the entertainment center, and housing.
2) Greed=creating a few factories, like 2-3+ tobacco farms. From there, it's basically building like crazy.
3)cursed=a little tricky. entertainment center near town center, the open area upper right from palace, created alot of coffee and tobacco farms. Also built the mines. Then, again, building like crazy.

With all islands, you have to satisfy your peeps. Generally you have to first build a clinic, then pub, marketplace, high school, church, rest of the entainment buildings that dont use electricity. And you build them slowly while also building farms to generate money.
After the high school is built, then try to get the factories built.
So a starting point is a garage or 2 to move ppl around, a few farms (and/or mines) and one clinic. Then work on the rest.

Total scores were:
Viva tropico = 25,996
Greed = 80,014
Cursed island= 80,317

RE: Got Stuck
Cursed is a pain.. I hate that mission, and never replayed it after beating it.

I beat it by basically talking a small island approach, and lower end economy.

I built tons of little houses, Bunk houses and country houses, then used basic, farming/mining/fishing and skipped all high end industry as i got sick of rebuilding everything. Basically lots of little buildings if you lose a couple its not a big deal. Farms just get rebuilt fast, worry about houses after.

RE: Got Stuck
I beat Cursed by ordering everything I could afford at the outset and setting all of them to "stop construction" before they were finished. Then the first disaster does no damage, after which you can continue safely for a short while. And I got the "curse of the llama" achievement after the tenth disaster. But like Tropi'je I shall not play it again: once was more than enough.

Have at least half of your workforce doing something that makes the island money (as opposed to services) and you should have no budget issues.

yup.. skiming is a good way. as long as they are paid well, have a few clinics, and a restraunt.. you should be fine. and of course you can always just cancel elections.

Finance can go hayware, if you have no factories on the island. farms and such doesn't bring enough in once you have alot of ppl and services going.

BINGO !

Please pardon me for interupting, but a long-time player who goes by Rebel-Yell said that sometime back about his experience with T1.

RE: Got Stuck
I've now completed all the Classic Campaign except Freedom &, in Absolute Power, all except Cash for Bonkers, Isle of Splendor & Shoot the Rocket. Every time I play these scenarios I do worse than the time before! I can't keep in credit & have enough soldiers to keep rebels at bay. Any ideas?

RE: Got Stuck
the best way to deal with rebels is to not have them in the first place.

if you see rebeles poping.. (typically there are also protests) hit pause when you see a rebel pop message.. find him/her. See what the info is.

they can be from a list of things.. environment, get people out of shacks, build garbage dumps to reduce red areas..

lack of churches, really you only need one catherdal, More churches and a newspapper set to religious, and even a collage set to religious, and late game the christ statue..

low liberty, get an eary radiostation, or even a well places newspapper. Putting one of these in the middle of 10-20 appartments/tenements its gonna make some decent money.
