@ TB:

I'm afraid you misread my post.

I'm not saying I blame Americans for the use of that word, I said
Quote:...giving the impression any American isn't able to speak two sentences without using the F-word

What I meant is that over the past 20+ years during my travels to London, concerts I attended or hired contract-workers I talked to, all of whoms native language is English, only ONE used that darn word at least once in a sentence. And he was a Scotsman instead of an American.

So unlike what I see at a lot of TV-shows (and 80% or so is from American origin) or hear at the radio (P!nk as well as some other "artists") I know from own experience not all Americans use that word every sentence. Nor do Canadians, Australians or British.

Oh and for the record, Debs is Dutch. Big Grin

Sorry for the mis-understanding.

I also meant to type Netherlands for Debs, but I had Norway on the brain lately.Rolleyes

I’ll just file this away in the “silly me” basket, and delete my previous post.Big Grin

Ditto. I just like smiley faces, big grins, and the cool faces. I think that says enough when use appropriately.

Yes, always be careful to use them appropriately. Otherwise Bob will uproot a tree and start beating you over the head with it. Rolleyes

I know you came from a rude forum, but was this really necessary? I’m obviously not the only one that thinks this way of using appropriate symbols. Let’s stop this, and conduct ourselves accordingly. I’ll delete this, if you delete your remarks. We must act like adults here. I think this is getting far off the threads intended purpose.

Man chill. I was making a joke just there and having fun. I already have been conducting myself "accordingly" in case you hadn't noticed I haven't used any at all since our conversation. I think you take things far too seriously. There's a reason I used the emote I did at the end of that post, it means I'm having fun, not upset. You ask if what I posted was "necessary" well of course it wasn't. But then most of the things said here aren't "necessary". Does that mean we shouldn't post stuff and have fun? Geeze...

It was an expression that was used to say be polite around ladies mostly, but it really should just mean any other person. To quote a cute movie, blast from the past; "mannors are to show you have respect for other people"

Logging now and then, looking for some Patrician news.

Word gay is also often misused ( as replacement for uncool ).

That movie is gay !

Youtube user A: I disliked this video

User B: @user A you are gay

Gay can also refer to:

Happy, or Festive.

Are we talking about “overused words” or “misused words”? There is a difference.

It wasn't used in that context.

"Gay" is both misused and overused. But most people on internet don't seem to care what they write.

Oops posted it twice ! Edited
