Yes, this is the release date for the digital version of Tropico 4. (e.g. Steam, Gamersgate and so on)

RE: Release on 2nd September?
It may simply be the difference in time zones between where you live and where the game manufacturer is located. If the official date for release is September 2nd in Europe, it may end up being sometime September 1st in the US. There's at least 4 hours between any part of the US and any part of Europe. More the farther west you go here and east there.

I think Steam bases it's updates on pacific time, based on Civ V's updating system, but I could be wrong of course.

Just fly to Germany, pick up a boxed copy on the 25th, then come back and enjoy it before anybody else here can. Tongue
Hey, you can even get a vacation out of it! Go for a boat ride on the Rhine or something. Big Grin

When are you publishers going to realize the importance of a simultaneous release? As soon as it's available to the first major territory, it will be pirated, and then anybody in the world can acquire it illegally, which if they're impatient they will be forced to do because there's no way to acquire it legally! It's only your own business that you're hurting. Sad

RE: Release on 2nd September?
why are movies coming out in different territories on different dates etc etc etc etc etc.....
do you know the publishers business or how they work? do you know when the different distributors ship units to the market (i.e. german releases are always on the thursday, uk normally on a friday, north america on a tuesday blabla)? let me guess, your answer is NO!

there are always reasons, some which we can explain, some we do not explain because it is nobodys business. we're talking about a couple of days, not weeks.

Trust me, if it were that easy to pull off a simultaneous release, we would do so. There are a myriad of reasons why we can't, though.

Ok.. there are atleast reasons... What they are i have zero clue.. I did always wonder why things came out at different times in different places.

I guess you must join the big boy club of the corperate release of items to understand them...Tongue

Honestly though i really dont care about the wait, im over getting games on release day...

I will say, i must thank kaylpso though for not adding pre-order bonuses to your games. I really dislike that trend in the industry these days and i hope you continue to avoid it.

RE: Release on 2nd September?
I've heard of release dates from August 25th to September 6th.

I don't think that's uncommon for a multi-nation release.

I believe it releases in the US on August 25th but the Steam version doesn't unlock until September 1st. I may not be able to last that long as I am holding off on preordering from Steam until I am inside the release date window.

I want it yesterday.
