Exclamation What is "on topic?" Self-appointed Board Police Decide?
It's interesting that here on the "OFF-TOPIC" board we spend more time fussing about what may or may not be on topic than anywhere else on the Kalypso Forum.

What's up with this?

Thread starters demand that they have control of what gets posted in THEIR thread? What a friendly environment.

Of course, this is not a friendly environment -- probably instead of what was intended by Kalypso when it was established. I think they thought it would be a place where game fans could vent on non-game topics without being at each other's throats.

Instead it has become a combat zone about what's "on or off" topic in a thread. I don't think that's what the board is about - or should be about.

*Crouches low to the ground and runs to a ditch about 30 yards from CoconutKid, carrying an M16 over his shoulder and holding a shovel in his hand. A belt of grenades and ammunition is strapped around his waste. Quickly he looks around to see if there are any threats nearby, then he begins to dig, carving out a basic foxhole. When it is finished and he is secure he calls out.*

That's right Coco! Friendly environments are for sissies! True posters take a combat zone and turn the battle to victory!

*Takes his M16 and places it to his shoulder, siting in on the Tread Title. Begins to fire.*

Hahahaha!! Eat lead On Topic thread!

*RAT-TAT-TAT!!!*

@CK

It’s just common courtesy to stick with a specific topic at hand. A thread loses it’s focal point when it gets derailed. An off-topic board doesn’t mean members should post off-topic remarks on a specific topic/thread created. It’s just plain disrespectful. If it takes a member to point it out, so be it. Creators of topics/threads should be able to point out what is off-topic on their threads created for a specific topic, or subject matter. It’s not a matter of being a ”Self-appointed Board Police”, but being considerate to others. Sorry if you can’t grasp this concept. You are confusing off-topic boards with topic threads created by our members within these boards.

With this thread, YOU are the one continuing to make this a “Combat Zone”, instead of letting it go. HenryVem asked me to stop attacking you, and I complied by deleting my post. Now you create a thread like this knowing full well I would respond.

Nice thread to launch or provoke an attack, be it in disguise, or cloaked, as Tyroq seemed to suggest. Such a thread only shows your rear-end, and maturity level. I could easily create such silly threads about you, but what point would it serve except to only show my rear-end. Stop the nonsense, and grow up. Are you 77, or 7? I’m sure you won’t get many favorable responses here. It seems that the only ones that would have trouble with this concept, would be the ones that troll threads with irrelevant remarks, such as yourself.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist that one.

The fact is that I did delete that post. I’m not responsible if Che left it up. I realized it was just as childish as this thread, and you for bringing it up.

Wow there's an aweful lot of self-deleting going on around here. People must be extremely sensitive to stuff on these boards. That's something that will take a lot of getting used to...
